A few months ago I had never heard the words Kin Stretch. What is it I asked my trainer? That question has lead me to read and follow experts in the field. I attend the few classes available in Maine.
Kin Stretch involves doing “cars” (controlled articular rotations). Kin Stretch involves movement and isometric holds which will improve joint mobility. I have learned that the difference between flexibility and mobility is this: Flexibility is the ability of a muscle to lengthen. Mobility is the ability of a joint to move actively and freely through a range of motion, under your own power.
I am too novice to write thoroughly on this subject. Instead I am going to share a quote from an expert and a video from the Kinstretch.com website which speaks volumes:
Quote from Joe Gambino, DPT (Instagram page): 'Floss your Joints Daily' "Cars are like floss- getting synovial fluid and nutrition into the joint spaces. We can activate joint receptors and help prevent atrophy. Remember, If you don’t use it you lose it.”
